Coulsdon Athlectic visit to Whyteleaf FC

Saturday 21st January 2016

A group of boys where guest of Ryman league club Whyteleaf FC on Saturday afternoon, we where treated to a entertainin 1-1 draw. As well as being an enjoyable afternoon and a oppertunity to build team spirt we had a look at the importance of team communication on the field of play, work rate on and off the ball,  along with the way that teams set up and maintain a positional shape throughout the game.

We ask each boy to focus on a player that played in a simular position to there own. We hope to take more boys to local games in the future as part of their development.

News letter

Ladies and Gentlemen

Welcome to the Tigers/Eagles Derby

I believe that today’s encounter will be a close and well matched game for us all to enjoy.

I would like to update you all as to what is going on with the club.

Teams

At this present moment in time we have three teams competing in the Tandridge B League. Tigers, Eagles and our under 17 side. All teams have gone up a division so the opposition is a little stronger and have been competing at a higher level for a longer time, but this is nothing that should faze our boys, as they all have the ability to achieve at this standard.

We are also training a group of under nines on a Saturday morning at Corrigan Ave,  which are the club’s future, so if you know anyone that has youngsters that they want  to get running around on a Saturday Morning let us know.

Corrigan Avenue.

We are still in negotiations with Sutton Council as to a 25 year lease on Corrigan Avenue, but as you all will be aware in its present condition it is not fit for purpose, and before any commitment is made we as a club will require a full redevelopment of the property to meet our growing needs.

 FA Chartered/Charity Status

As the club develops we are looking at ways in which we can attract additional funding to assist with the club’s growth. To attract areas of major long term funding we need a “Fit for Purpose” base, hence the negotiations with Sutton Council over Corrigan Avenue hence.

Lots of larger companies now will only offer some form of assistance to organisations with Charity status. This is an area we are looking into.

Sponsorship

We have managed to secure a deal with David Wilson Homes who will be providing the Club with training tops for all the boys. I will endeavour to see if I can make this sponsorship a long term deal.

We have had a few small donations to assist with Wednesday night training although I would like a few more as our main aim is to keep cost to the club to a minimum

If any one can assist with bringing a sponsor to the Club it would be fantastic

Community Involvement

On Saturday the 21st November the Club will be represented at the Clock house Community Association Christmas Fayre. We will be promoting the club and fund raising. So come along and start your Christmas 2015 with the club.

Clockhouse Community Association are also looking to the club for the possibility of a regular tiny tots football session at this venue. If you have toddlers do speak to the coaches to be kept up to date with this.

In House Raising Funds

Snack Bar

You may be reading this while drinking a warm cup of tea from the snack bar, which we will endeavour to open most weekends. But we can only do this with the kind support of others so if anybody wishes to help, offers are greatly received.

(It could be somewhere warm to stand in the cold weather and you get a free cup of tea or coffee)

Club Raffle

We are looking to hold a club raffle at Christmas, so we are asking for quality donations to offer as prizes: book tokens, store cards, toys, anything along those lines. Once I have a good selection of prizes I will push out the tickets.

Clothes Donations

Our first clothes donation was a great success raising over £65.00, this in turn was invested into stock for the snack bar.

Therefore we would like to continue our efforts in this area giving you all the opportunity to get rid of all your unwanted clothes and textiles. So come on! Bag it up and drop it of at Corrigan Ave when you’re next taking your loved one to footy or training.

Getting Involved

.

Now is an exciting time in the development of Coulsdon Athletic Youth Football Club, so if any of you are want to get involved in any shape or form, get in touch.

We need to start raising money for forthcoming seasons to help keep the cost to a minimum for all involved. We are one of the cheapest clubs around, and we would like to keep it that way as we hope to encourage greater numbers of all ages into our club.

Bearing this in mind, as we grow our need for assistance grows, training any budding coaches /managers /Fundraisers even a parents rep would help.

Many of our boys are showing a keen interest in coaching which has always been a plan for those that want to, to become the club coaches of the future.

Many thanks

Lee

Season 2015/2016

21september 2015

Well the start of the new season is here, and ok maybe not the results that we all wanted but I am sure that you all agree that the club its self has come on leaps and bounds, with 50 boys if you include the under 8s attending training this Saturday.

With this growth comes the need for more people to become involved , we are looking for any body that can help in any way . We are looking to reinstate the snack bar at Corrigan to provide tea /coffee on cold winters mornings and of course raise a few bob. Any help of course would be greatly recieved.

Even if you know any one that wants to get involved with youth football give them a nudge in our direction.

MESSAGE FROM LEE

27/04/2015

As we draw to  the end of what I think has been a very good season for us all as a club ,of course I appreciate that we have not been all concurring as results go , but lets be honest all the hard work that the boys are putting In I think is paying dividends with a vast improvement in our football , making each game that we play more competitive

The Performances  that  the boys are putting in, individually and as a team has begun to make it hard for the coaches and managers to make decisions which we do try to do in fairness giving every body equal opportunity .

So a big well done to all you Boys

Training on Wednesday Nights and Saturdays mornings has been a great success with 42 boys of mixed ages attending our last training session.

So bearing this in mind, training sessions will continue to take place on Saturday mornings once the season has ended, these sessions will be used  to maintain the boys fitness and also to promote the club to others of all ages.

To be honest is an exciting time in the development of Coulsdon Athletic Youth Football Club so if any of you are wanting to get involved in any shape or form, get in touch.

We need to start raising moneys for next season to help cover the cost of training sessions on Wednesday night (20 weekly sessions booked for next season)

So to start, we would like to offer you all the opportunity to get rid of all your  unwanted clothes and textiles, we as a football club, can use this to generate some income to cover some of the cost of this training and keeping everybody's outlay to a minimum  .So come on ! bag it up and drop it of at Corrigan Ave when your next taking your loved one to footy or training  .

Keep an eye on the club web site for updates or if you want any info contact one of us.

See you all up Corrigan laden down with bags.

Due to my work shift system, I cannot attend every game - both Eagles or Tigers. We need someone to write a short and informal match report for each and every game the boys play. This can then be posted on the Club website for all to read. Anyone willing and able, please let me know.
